LONDON(ICIS)--Czech producer Spolchemie said on Tuesday that it is initiating a new perchloroethylene (perc) production campaign this week.
The producer plans to restart its 15,000 tonne/year perc plant in Usti nad Labem on 26 September which will run until 4 October, a company source said this week.
The source added that a second campaign is scheduled to start on 21 October.
“We are not sure how long [the second production campaign will go on for],” the source said. “It will be based on demand levels [at that time].”
The company had originally planned a single campaign in October but subsequently split production to two separate cycles as machine parts needed to be ordered due to minor technical issues, the source added.
Other European perc producers include Dow Chemical, Solvay and Anwil.
