South Korea’s  exports of paraxylene (PX), meanwhile, surged by 72.9% year on year to 281,007 tonnes, the data showed.

Its overseas shipments of high density polyethylene (HDPE) fell by 1.65% year on year to 115,488 tonnes in August, while exports of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) was down by 3.21% at 52,852 tonnes, according to KITA.

Meanwhile, South Korea’s exports of petroleum products was down by 6.9% year on year at  $4.57bn in the first 20 days of August this year, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MTIE).

“[Overall] Exports gained 7.7% year on year to $46.37bn, and the average value of total exports per day grew 10.0% to $1.97bn,” the MTIE said.
