BRISBANE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) plans to resume term base oils supply to India in October after completing its plant turnaround, a company source said on Thursday.
Term supply to India amounts to 5,000-6,000 tonnes a month, the source added.
The company is now set to restart its 600,000 tonne/year Group II base oils plant at Mailiao in Taiwan in early October, although it was originally planned to be restarted in late September, according to the source.
The plant was shut on 5 August for a routine turnaround.
The company will also resume its contractual supply of base oils to China in October, the source said.
However, spot supply to the Chinese market will not be available until November as inventory level is low, added the source.
FPCC mainly produces Group II N150 and N500 base oils at its Mailiao plant.
