LONDON (ICIS)--Novapex will boost its production capacity of isopropanol (IPA) at its plant in ?xml:namespace>
The planned expansion comes after the French company added 10,000 tonnes/year over the past year to reach the current capacity of 50,000 tonnes/year.
Novapex is growing its production capability to meet rising demand for IPA from its customers in downstream markets, especially those in the liquid detergent, food applications and pharmaceutical industries, the source said.
“We have proven our ability to deliver, and customers are more confident in us and are increasing their orders,” the source said.
Another 30,000 tonnes/year of capacity may be added after 2016 if demand continues to grow, the source said.
At 50,000 tonnes/year, Novapex’s current capacity is still lower than Sasol’s 240,000 tonnes/year in
