Indonesia’s Sorini Agro Asia shuts sorbitol plant for turnaround

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Indonesia’s Sorini Agro Asia has taken its 140,000 tonne/year sorbitol plant off line on 1 October for regular maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.

The plant, which is located in the eastern part of Java, near Surabaya port, will be restarted by the end of the week, the source said.

Sorbitol is an artificial sweetener with applications in food products and pharmaceuticals.
