LONDON (ICIS)--The European October acetone methyl methacrylate (MMA) contract price has moved down by €33/tonne from the previous month, following the drop in the value of the propylene contract price, sources said on Tuesday.
The October acetone MMA contract price settled at €923/tonne ($1,247/tonne) FD (free delivered) NWE (northwest Europe).
A major buyer confirmed €923/tonne as its October MMA acetone contract price.
A second major buyer described the settlement figure as “reasonable”.
On the selling side, a major producer of acetone said it was trying to avoid the European market looking attractive for non-European suppliers, adding that it was expecting its acetone demand to remain strong through October to November.
($1 = €0.74)
