DUBAI (ICIS)--Saudi Acrylic Polymers Company (SAPCO) is ready for a trial run at its 80,000 tonne/year super absorbent polymers (SAP) plant in Al-Jubail, it said on Tuesday.
“Polymers Acrylic Arabia on 29 September 2013 certified the end of mechanical works for [the] production of polymers super absorbent and is prepared for a demo run," SAPCO said in a bourse filing.
SAPCO’s owned plant is the first SAP facility in the Middle East. No start date was given for the trial operations, which had previously been scheduled for September.
SAPCO is a joint venture between Saudi Arabia’s National Industrialization Company (TASNEE), Sahara Petrochemicals and Germany’s Evonik Industries.
