South Korea’s KPIC shuts Onsan cracker, OCU for maintenance

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Korea Petrochemical Industry Co (KPIC) shut its Onsan naphtha cracker and olefins conversion unit (OCU) as scheduled on Monday for  a turnaround, a source close to the company said.

The turnaround at the two facilities will last until the end of October, the source said.

The naphtha cracker can yield around 470,000 tonnes/year of ethylene, while the OCU can produce around 110,000 tonnes/year of propylene.
