BERLIN (ICIS)--Global methyl methacrylate (MMA) demand should rise by 4.5% in 2014, one producer said late on Sunday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the 47th annual European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) meeting, the source said: “For every million tonnes of demand, there should be 45,000 tonnes more [in 2014]. So, roughly 100,000 tonnes/year.”
The supplier said: “The projection is that Europe should be better. What matters is direction and improvement in confidence. It [demand] should move up in line with GDP. Next year’s prospects are better than this year.”
The EPCA meeting runs from 5-9 October.
