SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) plans to triple its Group II base oils supply volume to China’s contractual buyers to 25,000 tonnes in October, a company source said on Thursday.
Most of the cargoes will be low-viscosity grades, the source said, adding that they will increase the share of high-viscosity base oils supply to China for November.
The company restarted its 600,000 tonne/year Group II base oils plant at Mailiao on 5 October, after a two-month shutdown for maintenance.
Base oils production at the plant is gradually recovering, the source said.
However, the company will continue to halt spot supply to China in October, added the source.
FPCC supplied 8,000 tonnes of Group II base oils to contractual buyers in China in September.
