LONDON (ICIS)--BASF has restarted its polyols plant in Schwarzheide, eastern Germany, after a 12-day routine maintenance shutdown from 16-28 September, a company source said on Friday.
“Schwarzheide has re-started as planned and is running smoothly,” the source said.
Prices in the European flexible polyols market are set to be stable to firmer for October depending on what level of price increase sellers implemented last month. Earlier this week, a flexible polyols producer said demand from the bedding and furniture sector is buoyant after a weaker than expected September.
The September ICIS price range for flexible polyols is €1,700-1,770/tonne ($2,297-2,392/tonne) FD (free delivered) northwest Europe (NWE). The October price settlement is expected to be confirmed next week.
