SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yisheng Hainan Petrochemical on 11-12 October started up two solid state polycondensation (SSP) lines at the firm’s 1m tonne/year polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle-grade chips plant in Hainan province, a company source said on Monday.

The plant consists of four SSP lines, each with 250,000 tonnes/year of capacity, and two 500,000 tonnes/year continuous polymerization (CP) lines.

The company on 23 September this year started up one of the 500,000 tonne/year CP lines on 23 September this year.

The firm now aims to start up the other 500,000 tonne/year CP line after the Chinese New Year next year, the source said.

The company had initially planned to start up all production lines at the plant in the third quarter of this year but this was partly delayed because of facility and feedstock issues, according to the source.
