LONDON (ICIS)--Czech producer Spolchemie said on Tuesday that it is initiating a second perchloroethylene (perc) production campaign next week following the first one from 26 September-4 October.
The producer plans to restart its 15,000 tonne/year perc plant in Usti nad Labem on 21 October which will run for at least two weeks, a company source said this week.
“Right now we are selling material from [our remaining] stock to minimise the stock quantity,” the source said. “This [production campaign] will be minimum two weeks, could be longer depending on [our] sales.”
The company had originally planned a single campaign in October but split production to two separate cycles due to minor technical issues. The source went on to say demand levels are unchanged from last month and is balanced with availability.
Other European perc producers include Dow Chemical, Solvay and Anwil.
