China’s Qingdao Lidong shuts aromatics unit for 45 days

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Qingdao Lidong Chemical shut its aromatics facility on Thursday for scheduled maintenance and de-bottenecking, according to a source familiar with the matter.

The aromatics unit in Qingdao will be shut for 45 days, the source said.

After the debottlenecking, the company will be able to produce 800,000 tonnes/year of paraxylene (PX) from 700,000 tonnes/year currently, while benzene production will increase to 270,000 tonnes/year from 240,000 tonnes/year, the source added.
