EU nylon exports down sharply in July, August - Eurostat

LONDON (ICIS)--EU nylon exports fell sharply in July and August, according to data from statistics agency Eurostat on Monday.

A major end-user of nylon is the automotive sector which has been struggling. EU new passenger car registrations for January-August this year were at their lowest-ever level, declining by 5.2% year on year, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).

EU nylon imports from the rest of the world rose by 22% and 8% year on year in July and August respectively.
