MELBOURNE (ICIS)--Malaysia’s PETRONAS Chemicals Group (PCG) is in the process of ramping up the operating rate at its 60,000 tonne/year butyl glycol (BG) plant at Kerteh in Terengganu after restarting it over the weekend of 9-10 November, a company source said on Wednesday.
The plant restart was delayed from late October because of technical issues, said the source, without giving further details.
The BG plant was taken off line in early September as part of a major overhaul at the company’s Kerteh petrochemical complex.
Other BG producers in Asia include KH Neochem in Japan, Lotte Chemical in South Korea and Dynamic (Nanjing) Chemical Industry in China.
