SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Thailand’s Siam Sorbitol plans to shut its 8,000 tonne/year sorbitol plant in Phimai, Thailand, in May next year for a regular maintenance, a company source said on Wednesday.

The plant, which usually undergoes maintenance twice a year, is currently being operated at full capacity, he added.

The turnaround in May 2014 will last for about 10 days, the source said.

The company typically sells sorbitol in the domestic Thai market, while it also exports the product to markets in Singapore, Vietnam and Malaysia.
