HOUSTON (ICIS)--LSB Industries has obtained an air permit from the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality for its expansion of its El Dorado facility, the company announced on Thursday.

The planned expansion includes a 493,000 tons/year (447,000 tonnes/year) ammonia plant, a 360,000 tons/year nitric acid plant and a 40,000 tons/year nitric acid concentrator.

All three plants are scheduled for completion in 2015.

“We expect to commence construction immediately and, once installed and operational, these plants will provide the facility with increased capacity, improved efficiency, product mix flexibility, and should result in a significant reduction of feedstock costs,” said LSB CEO Jack Golsen.
