LONDON (ICIS)--Imports of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) into the EU from the rest of the world dropped 6% year on year, according to data from statistics agency Eurostat on Monday.
An increase in all three feedstock September contract prices saw September ABS demand fall below many market participants’ expectations.
Consumers tried to avoid large purchases from both European and overseas producers and utilise inventories on the expectation of an easing in October prices.
September ABS exports from the EU dropped 13% year on year.
