LONDON (ICIS)--Poland's Grupa Azoty is committed to establishing liquid solution urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) production plants at all of its fertilizer companies, the group said on Tuesday.

The only group company that so far produces liquid UAN, Zaklady Azotowe Pulawy (ZAP), was encountering excellent and growing demand from farmers, it added.

Farmers, who are generally becoming more and more sophisticated in their requirements, appreciated the product because it raised crops' fertilizer absorption rates, Grupa Azoty, Europe's second largest fertilizer producer behind Norway's Yara International, said.

A drawback in marketing the product is that only large farms had the required storage and dispensing equipment for using liquid UAN, although large farms were becoming increasingly common in key sales regions for the group such as southern Poland, Grupa Azoty noted.

The next Grupa Azoty company to roll out an investment in liquid UAN is to be Zaklady Azotowe Kedzierzyn (ZAK), with construction of its plant to start next year.
