SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shanghai Secco Petrochemical plans to shut down its polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) units in Shanghai in March 2014 for maintenance, a source close to the company said on Wednesday.
The 250,000 tonne/year PP and the 600,000 tonne/year PE units will be off line for 40 days for annual maintenance, the source added.
The supply of both PP and PE will likely decrease in the market because of the long duration of the shutdowns, a trader in eastern China said.
