China’s Dezhou Hongji to start building LNG plant in early 2014

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Dezhou Hongji Pipeline Engineering is planning to start building a 300,000 cubic metre (cbm)/day plant at Dezhou, Shandong province, in early 2014, a company source said on Thursday.

The company is expected to bring the LNG plant on stream in early 2015, the source said.

The plant will mainly process natural gas supplied through PetroChina’s Hebei-Nanjing gas pipeline, according to the source.

The yuan (CNY) 130m ($21.3m) project will also include a LNG storage facility at the same site., the source said.

Details of the storage facility has yet to be finalised as the project is in the planning stage, according to the source.

Some of the plant’s output will be distributed by the company’s proposed refuelling stations, while some will be supplied to the domestic market, the source added.

Dezhou Hongji Pipeline Engineering is largely engaged in natural gas pipeline construction and projects of LNG and compressed natural gas (CNG).
