SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwanese producer Nan Ya Plastics Corp will start up its new 100,000 tonne/year dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP) unit at Ningbo in Zhejiang province on 13 December, a source close to the company said on Thursday.
DOTP prices in the local market may fall when the plant comes on line because of increased supply amid the weak demand, one market source said.
Domestic DOTP prices in east China were assessed at yuan (CNY) 11,325/tonne ($1,866/tonne) EXWH (ex-warehouse) east China on 11 December, compared with CNY11,300/tonne on 6 December, according to Chemease, an ICIS service in China.
Nan Ya Plastics Corp is a key plasticizer producer at Ningbo in Zhejiang province.
