HOUSTON (ICIS)--Sasol announced on Friday that it is seeking a North America price increase of 8 cents/lb ($176/tonne, €128/tonne) for the oxo-alcohol n-butanol (NBA), effective on 1 January.

Sasol said that the company would be monitoring sales levels in December to insure optimal inventory management, as it has proposed January price increases on a number of chemical products.

Other companies have set their sights on 8 cents/lb price hikes for oxo-alcohols in the new year, including Oxea, Dow Chemical and Eastman Chemical.
