LONDON (ICIS)--The European January styrene barge contract was settled this morning at €1,410/tonne ($1,932/tonne), up €35/tonne from the previous month, players confirmed on Thursday.

The contract price was agreed on a free on board (FOB) Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) basis.

The increase was broadly in line with raw material benzene costs this month, which were up by €37/tonne.

“Feedstocks are up by €32-33/tonne, and the spot market is bullish for January in line with Asia although it is difficult to say whether this will last beyond the next week or so,” one of the buyers involved in the settlement said.
