The force majeure on both products at the Rafnes site had been removed at the end of December, as production reached reasonable levels, added the source.
The VCM and PVC facilities in Rafnes had resumed output in mid-December, following the resolution of recent technical difficulties at the VCM unit that occurred in the second half of November.
The technical difficulties at the VCM unit resulted in its shutdown and this also impacted the downstream PVC production at the same site. As a result, force majeure was declared on both products.
Nameplate capacities for chloralkalis, VCM and PVC at Rafnes were not disclosed.
