Lower US jet fuel consumption leads to 1.7% inventory gain

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US jet fuel consumption rates dropped by about 11% for the week ended 27 December, causing inventories to rise, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Friday.

Meanwhile, refinery utilisation rates fell slightly to 92.4% from 92.7% the week prior.

Jet fuel production rates were 23,000 bbl/day higher at 1.643m bbl/day.

US jet fuel exports held steady at 123,000 bbl/day, while imports were 15,000 bbl/day less at 31,000 bbl/day.
