SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s KPX Fine Chemical resumed production at one of its three toluene di-isocynate (TDI) lines in Yeosu, running at 30% capacity, a company source said late on Wednesday.
The three lines have a capacity of 50,000 tonnes/year each.
The other two lines will remain shut because of high raw material costs, according to the company source.
Market participants said the shutdown will have little impact on supply in the Asian and Middle Eastern markets, as there has been ample supply available from other Asian and European producers.
