SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China's Fude (Changzhou) Energy targets to commission its 330,000 tonne/year methanol-to-olefins (MTO) plant at Changzhou in Jiangsu province in October this year, a company source said on Thursday.

Construction work of the project in Jiangsu province began in November 2012, said the source.

The project is expected to produce 165,000 tonnes/year of ethylene and 165,000 tonnes/year of propylene, the source added.

These will be fed into a 160,000 tonne/year ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM) rubber plant at the same site, which is under construction and invested by LANXESS, the source said.

Fude (Changzhou) Energy, which belonged to Chia Tai Group, is now a subsidiary of Fund Energy Investment Holdings.
