HOUSTON (ICIS)--US exports of mixtures of 2,4- and 2,6-toluene di-isocyanates (TDI) in November 2013 were up by about 29% from November 2012, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Thursday.

TDI exports in November 2013 increased to 13,020 tonnes from 10,090 tonnes in 2012.

Month on month, exports fell by more than 41% in November from 22,235 tonnes in October 2013, the ITC said.

Through November, exports declined by almost 3% to 131,203 tonnes, compared with 135,102 tonnes in the first 11 months of 2012, according to the ITC.

The decrease from 2012 to 2013 was a result of smaller volumes being shipped in 2013 to Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Nigeria and Ecuador.

Top destinations for US TDI for 2013 through November were Brazil (35,652 tonnes), Mexico (19,101 tonnes), Belgium (18,104 tonnes) and Canada (12,263 tonnes).

US TDI suppliers are Bayer MaterialScience, BASF and Dow Chemical.
