HOUSTON (ICIS)--US acrylic acid exports for November were up 19% from the year-ago period, according to US International Trade Commission (ITC) data released on Thursday, on stable but seasonally softer demand.
US producers shipped 3,508 tonnes to foreign buyers in November, compared with 2,950 tonnes in November 2012, according to ITC data. Of that, 1,122 tonnes went to Brazil and 1,056 tonnes to China. In November of last year, China took 364 tonnes, while Brazil’s volume one year ago was comparable at 892 tonnes.
November imports of 865 tonnes reflected a 75% increase over the year-ago import volume of 493 tonnes.
US acrylic acid suppliers include Dow Chemical, BASF, Sasol and Arkema Emulsion Systems.
