HOUSTON (ICIS)--Dow Chemical is seeking off-list price increases of 3 cents/lb ($66/tonne) for ethylene glycol monobutyl ether (EB), diethylene glycol monobutyl ether (DB), propylene glycol monobutyl ether (PM) and propylene glycol monobutyl ether acetate (PMA), effective on 1 February, a source said on Tuesday.
Dow announced a 6 cent/lb increase on EB and DB and an 8 cent/lb increase on PM and PMA on 10 December, effective on 1 January. A market source said that the latest price increase would likely be in addition to the price initiative Dow put out in December.
ICIS-assessed contract prices for glycol ethers are 86-90 cents/lb for EB, 100-102 cents/lb for DB and 112-114 cents/lb for PM and PMA.
