LONDON (ICIS)--Turkish plasticizers producer Ela Kimya has completed an expansion of its dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP) plant at Tuzla in the country and is set to begin diisononyl phthalate (DINP) production at the same site next month, a company source said on Tuesday.

The company completed a 20,000 tonne/year expansion of its DOTP plant at the beginning of January, the source said, increasing its capacity to 60,000 tonnes/year from 40,000 tonnes/year.

A new DINP plant at Tuzla with a nameplate capacity of 20,000 tonnes/year is scheduled to begin operations on 5 February, the source said.

Work has begun on a new non-phthalate plasticizer plant at the Gebkim industrial zone, the source added, which is expected to have a nameplate capacity of 35,000 tonnes/year.

Ela Kimya expects to finish construction of the new plant in mid-2014, the source said.

The producer also operates a 15,000 tonne/year dioctyl phthalate (DOP) plant and a 5,000 tonne/year trioctyl trimellitate (TOTM) plant at Tuzla.
