China’s combined imports of PE, PP up 6.48% in December ’13

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China imported a combined volume of 1.41m tonnes polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) in December 2013, representing a 6.48% increase from the previous month, official data showed late on Thursday.

On a year-on-year basis, the country took in 16.0% more PP and PE volumes in December 2013, according to China Customs data.

PP imports in December stood at 529,100 tonnes, up by 10.1% month on month and by 3.55% year on year.

PE imports in December totalled 877,200 tonnes, up by 4.43% from November and by 25.0% from the same period last year.
