LONDON (ICIS)--US producer Mississippi Phosphates is due to start monoammonium phosphate (MAP) production in mid February 2014, the company said late on Thursday.

The addition of MAP will allow the producer to expand its market base. MissPhos has also signed an exclusive off-take agreement for MAP with Interoceanic Corporation in order to increase its targeting of value-added market sectors.

MissPhos already produces and markets diammonium phosphate (DAP) to the domestic and international markets. The producer sold 147,315 tonnes of DAP in the fourth quarter 2013, of which 119,732 tonnes were sold into export markets and 27,583 tonnes into domestic markets.
