SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China is estimated to have imported a combined volume of 1.60m tonnes polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) in January, up by 13.9% from the previous month, local traders said on Friday.
Some 1.013m tonnes of PE and 589,000 tonnes of PP were brought into the country last month, they said.
Comparing the figures with the official data for December 2013 imports, January 2014 PE imports increased by 15.5%, while PP imports were up by 11.3%, traders said.
China Customs' data on January imports will be released around 24 February.
