SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Iran’s Fanavaran Petrochemical has yet to resume full production at its 1m tonne/year methanol plant, which is currently running at half its capacity, a company source said on Monday.
The run rate at the plant in Bandar Imam Khomeini was raised to 50% on 16 February because of better supply of feedstock gas, the source said.
Fanavaran was supposed to resume full production at the plant last week but it had not received sufficient supply of feedstock gas from the government, the source said.
Shortage of feedstock gas had been a problem for methanol plants in the previous months as the Iranian government mandates the prioritisation of gas use for heating purposes during winter.
