SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shanghai Petrochemical plans to shut its 90,000 tonne/year low density polyethylene (LDPE) No 1 line in Shanghai in mid-March for maintenance, a source close to the company said on Tuesday.

The LDPE No 1 line will be shut down for about 10 days, the source said.

The supply of LDPE in eastern China is expected to decrease as Shanghai Petrochemical is one of the major producers, local distributors said.
