HOUSTON (ICIS)--COIM will break ground to expand its European polyester polyols production capacity in Offanengo, Italy, the company announced on Tuesday.
COIM expects the investment to be completed by September 2015, increasing its production capacity of aliphatic and aromatic polyester polyols by 35,000 tonnes.
“The growing demand of COIM’s aliphatic and aromatic polyester polyols will soon saturate the actual polyester polyols capacity,” CEO Lucio Siano said, pointing to the company’s commitment to the European rigid foam insulation market, and to coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers (CASE) and footwear applications.
Some of the production will also be used captively, the Italy-based company said.
Financial details were not disclosed.
