SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Export prices of linear alkyl benzene (LAB) from northeast Asia have been on the downtrend, market players said on Wednesday.

Buyers mainly in southeast Asia are said to be able to purchase material at lower prices because of a wider choice between northeast Asian, Middle East and Indian origin material.

A buyer said the current market price was at $1,800/tonne FOB (free on board) NE (northeast) Asia for March shipments, but it was not bidding for any material.

According to a south Asian trader this week, producers’ price indications are at $1,780-1,800/tonne FOB NE Asia.
