SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Samsung Total Petrochemicals is on track to shut its 650,000 tonne/year No 2 styrene monomer (SM) unit in the second half of March for maintenance, a company source said.
The unit, located in Daesan, is expected to be shut for around three weeks.
The company operates another 280,000 tonne/year No 1 unit at the same location. The plant will operate normally during this time.
Other SM producers in South Korea include LG Chem, Lotte Chemicals and SK Global Chemicals.
