SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Iran’s Marun Petrochemical and Laleh Petrochemical are on track to shut their polyethylene (PE) units at Bandar Imam in the end of April, said a regional trader on Friday.

Marun’s 300,000tonne/year high density polyethylene (HDPE) unit and Laleh’s 300,000tonne/year low density polyethylene (LDPE) unit will be taken off line for around 20-25 days, he added.

Laleh and Marun officials were not immediately available for comments.

The turnarounds could have an impact the import of LDPE and HDPE film grades for May shipment, Chinese distributors added.
