SHANGHAI (ICIS news)--China-based Zhenjiang Nantex Chemical Industry Co plans to shut down its 20,000 tonne/year acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) plant in July for a scheduled maintenance, a company source said on Thursday.
"We still have to fix the starting date for the shutdown which will last for around 20 days," the source added.
The market supply could tighten during the shutdown, as the company was a major NBR producer in China, he said adding the plant’s capacity would be expanded to 30,000 tonnes/year in November.
The company, owned by Taiwanese synthetic rubber giant Nantex Industry Co, is located in Zhenjiang city, in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu.
