LONDON
(ICIS)–The European styrene barge contract for May has been
agreed at €1,390/tonne, up €20/tonne from the previous month’s settlement, several
sources said on Monday.
The contract price was agreed on a free on board (FOB)
Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) basis.
There had been previous expectations of a
downward correction in May following the steep €300/tonne
increase on the April contract settlement. However, rising
Asian spot numbers over the course of April combined with
firmer raw material costs eventually
counteracted this.
Benzene saw an increase of €145/tonne for
May, with the ethylene settlement was agreed €80/tonne higher
this month.
