BERLIN (ICIS)–Demand growth in Asia-Pacific has slowed while in Europe it has been disappointing though stable, said Brenntag CEO Steve Holland.
Speaking on the sidelines of the 49th annual European Petrochemical Association (EPCA) meeting in Berlin, Holland said demand in North America has been hit by the reduction in shale gas exploration and production. However, its broad-based portfolio has allowed it to minimise the impact, he added.
In Latin America, the chemical distribution model has opened up more opportunities despite challenging conditions. In China there is a slowdown, but growth rates of 4-5% are still very attractive, he said.
