Russia PP production rises 3% in January-June

MOSCOW (MRC)–Production of polypropylene (PP) in
Russia increased to 690,200 tonnes in first six months of
this year, up 3% compared to the same period of 2015,
according to MRC ScanPlast.
June PP production in the country
decreased to 87,200 tonnes compared to 123,200 tonnes in May.
Ufaorgsintez, Tobolsk-Polymer and Tomskneftekhim shut their
capacities for scheduled maintenance works last month.
Total PP production in Russia reached 690,200 tonnes in the
first six months of the year, compared with 667,800 tonnes in
the same period of 2015. SIBUR’s Tobolsk-Polymer,
the largest producer of PP in Russia, produced
about 17,800 tonnes against 44,300 tonnes a month
earlier. The producer shut units for turnaround
in the first half of June, and plans to restart PP production
in the late July. Tobolsk-Polymer’s PP production reached
232,400 tonnes in the first six months of the year, compared
with 215,100 tonnes year on year.
Poliom (Titan Group) produced about 17,900
tonnes of PP in June, compared with 18,600 tonnes in May.
Total PP production at the plant over the reported period
exceeded 102,200 tonnes, compared with 98,900 tonnes in the
first six months of 2015.
Nizhnekamskneftekhim decreased PP
production to 18,100 tonnes in June against 18,900 tonnes in
May. Total PP output at Nizhnekamskneftekhim exceeded 109,300
tonnes in January-June 2016, compared to 108,500 tonnes in
the same time a year earlier.
Tomskneftekhim in June produced slightly
more than 9,000 tonnes of polypropylene, while in May PP
output slightly exceeded 12,200 tonnes.
The producer shut its capacities for a
month long turnaround in the late July. The producer’s PP
production over the six months of the year was 66,600 tonnes,
down 6% in the same time a year earlier.
Stavrolen (LUKOIL) last month increased
capacity utilisation, total polypropylene production had
risen to 10,000 tonnes against 8,700 tonnes in May. PP
production at Stavrolen was 57,500 tonnes in the first six
months of the year, compared with 54,500 tonnes in the same
time a year earlier.
Neftekhimiya (Kapotnya) last month
produced about 11,000 tonnes of PP, compared with 9,700
tonnes in May. The producer’s PP output in the first six
months of the year reached 64,000 tonnes, up 14% year on
year.
Ufaorgsintez last month shut its
capacities for turnaround, the final output was approximately
6,300 tonnes. The producer’s PP output decreased to 58,100
tonnes in January-June 2016 compared with 64,000 tonnes year
on year.
