HOUSTON (ICIS news)–Here is Monday’s midday Americas oil and chemical market summary from ICIS pricing.

CRUDE: Jan WTI $62.40/bbl, down $1.03; Jan BRENT $63.59/bbl, down $1.03. Jan WTI traded in a morning range of $61.90-62.80/bbl. Prices retreated in Monday morning trading after crude rose around $4/bbl over the previous week.

NATURAL GAS: January natural gas futures prices plunged 48.2 cents (5.72%) on Monday morning to $7.94/m Btu at noon on continued selling pressure as severe weather conditions eased. PARAXYLENE: US paraxylene (PX) bids and offers were heard on Monday from $1,000-1,060/tonne for January delivery, with shipping terms undisclosed. No completed deals were heard. Bids and offers late last week fell within a similar range.
