LONDON (ICIS)–India’s Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT) on Friday awarded Trammo part of its recent ammonia purchase tender, the first time in months such an enquiry resulted in a sale.

The trader will deliver around 7,500 tonnes of the nitrogen fertilizer to the west coast port of Kochi (Cochin) between 1 and 10 November after the award at $295/tonne CFR (cost and freight).

Trammo was the only supplier to express an interest in the 16 September enquiry, with no-one offering to supply a similar-sized cargo to the same port before 20 October.

A string of purchase tenders by FACT over the past few months were all scrapped as offers were considered too high.

Earlier this week, the buyer received 2,100 tonnes of Qatari spot material from Muntajat at $310/tonne CFR.
