LONDON (ICIS)–Significant disruptions rippling along the global polyethylene terephthalate (PET) value chain are likely to continue, largely due to shipping delays, container shortages and high freight costs.
- vessel availability restricts discussions, in addition to PET buy-sell price gaps;
- Europe short on reduced output and shipping concerns, putting buyers on back foot;
- Asian spot export discussions at a standstill due to low buy-sell interest; and
- Americas inventories are lean, producers unable to rebuild stocks prior to hurricane season.
