Ukraine’s PE imports down 8% in January-May

MOSCOW (MRC)–Polyethylene (PE) imports into Ukraine stood at 103,300 tonnes in January-May, down 8% year on year, according to MRC’s DataScope report.

Imports of high density polyethylene (HDPE) stood at 33,100 tonnes in the first five months of 2021, down sharply from 46,600 tonnes a year earlier, while imports of low density polyethylene (LDPE) reached 31,600 tonnes, practically stable year on year.

Imports of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) stood at 31,700 tonnes in the five-month period, up slightly from 29,300 tonnes.

Other PE grades, including ethylene-vinyl-acetate (EVA), registered imports at 6,900 tonnes in January-May, up from 5,400 tonnes the prior year.
